Community Project

This July 2025 at Logan Art Gallery, as part of my ‘Ex Libris’ exhibition, the gallery will host workshops that invite the community to engage in a collaborative project celebrating nature and raising awareness about the plight of endangered and vulnerable bird species in our region. As part of the exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to join me in creating hundreds of simplified clay skulls – a powerful symbol of reciprocity and respect for the natural world.

I will help participants craft their own unique bird skulls, and they will then be gathered together to form a stunning large-scale installation that will be a focal point of the exhibition. This collaborative installation is not only a visual representation of the community's collective effort, but also a tribute to the delicate balance of nature, and the need to protect the birds that are at risk of extinction.

The significance of the project goes beyond just the creation of art. It offers an important opportunity for visitors to gain deeper ecological knowledge, reflect on environmental concerns, and contribute to a meaningful visual dialogue. Each clay skull will be a piece of this broader conversation, connecting us all through the act of creation.

But this project doesn’t end with the exhibition. In the future, I plan to repeat the project, inviting even more community members to participate. With each new iteration, more people will be able to engage with the issues at the heart of the project, learning about the environment and taking part in a collective artistic effort that grows in scale and impact over time.

I am excited to see the way this community-driven installation evolves and how each person’s contribution will add to the visual weight of the artwork. It’s a chance to be part of something bigger than ourselves—something that connects art, nature, and the future of our planet.

Stay tuned for more details as the exhibition approaches, and I look forward to welcoming you to this unique and meaningful event at Logan Art Gallery!
